EMSA (European Medical Students' Association) was created in 1991, at the European Medical Students' Congress in Leuven and was founded in 1991, at its first General Assembly, that took place in Brussels. It is a non-political student organization made by medical students for medical students!
Over the years, many ideas were expressed and many of them realized on how to make medical students, members of EMSA, to benefit as much as possible from EMSA.
EMSA Bratislava was founded by medical students, with an idea that it would benefit medical students from our medical faculty in some way. EMSA Bratislava is Faculty Member Organizations (F.M.O.), which is registered as official member, make up EMSA.
So far, we offer you main project, which is named „Students for Students“ for english speaking students (SFS) and „Študenti pre Študentov“ for slovak speaking students (ŠPŠ). It serves as and contains:
- European network of medical students for communication & exchange of experiences
- Dissemination point for social, cultural, academic, economic and ethical aspects of medicine – information about studies, educational materials, conferences, student´s life at faculty and out of faculty, charity, concerts, medical parties etc.
- Source of ideas & projects to be performed at our faculty – EMSA project Twinning programme, First Aid courses, Summer schools, Buddy Erasmus system etc.
- Possibility to take part in many congresses throughout Europe
- The organization to be in if you want to participate in cool events such as EMSA Sailing Week or EMSA Skiing Week, Weekend at High Tatras, many trips to get to know Slovakia and our neighbours
- The organization that brings you, our medical students, even closer to Europe !
