The Act number - zákon č. 48/2002 Z. z. o pobyte cudzincov describes the stay of foreigner in Slovak Republic.

Application forms - requests for temporary residence permit in Slovakia for foreigners:

  1. Request for temporary residence permit in Slovakia

    You must attach: 4,50 EUR duty stamp, 2 photographs (3 x 3,5cm), medical report from Policlinics of Exotic diseases, confirmation about health insurance, statement of criminal record in Slovakia and in the case the student is accommodated in privacy, it is necessary also to attach the notarially verified contract of accommodation and notarially verified certificate of ownership.

  2. If the student does not have an accommodation in privacy, he/she fills in the request the address of hotel in which he/she stays. But immediately after the student moves to private accommodation, he/she is obliged to report these changes at the Foreign Police, again with the notarially verified contract of accommodation and notarially verified certificate of ownership.

  3. Request for temporary residence permit in Slovakia - renewal

    Please check carefully your visa expiration date. For visa prolongation the student has to submit the Request for prolonged residence permit with the School Certificate declaring his/her studentship at the Foreign Police office. You need not to attach any documents to this request.

  4. Stay report

    Every foreigner (including the students from European Union) who stays in Slovak Republic for more than 3 days is obliged to report his/her stay in Slovakia at the Foreign Police within 3 days. Address of Foreign Police: Hrobákova Street 44, Bratislava; phone number: 0961036855. Certificate (card) of the temporary stay is the official document about the temporary stay in Slovak republic. Student can apply for this certificate (card) at Foreign Police, if he/she is interested in the issue of this card. The card is not obligatory. Students need these documents: passport, 2 photographs (3 x 3,5 cm), 4,50 EUR duty stamp (available at any post office).
