Lifelong Learning Programme / Erasmus
Programme LLP/Erasmus is a program of European Union (EU) supporting projects in the field of education and science. Its subprogramme Erasmus is centred on academic education. Erasmus is the European Commission's exchange programme that enables students in 31 European countries to study, work or teach for part of their degree in another country.
Information about the programmes Socrates and Erasmus is available also on the websites of SAAIC (Slovak Academic Association for International Cooperation), including also Slovak National Agency for LLP/Erasmus (NA).

Life Learning Program Erasmus - student mobility study (SMS)
Students of CUFM in Bratislava going abroad:
Specific terms:
- student shall be at least in 3rd year of the full-time study
- Erasmus Student mobility is ensured by the scope of Bilateral Agreement
- period of the study abroad should be absolutely accepted by home university
- Learning Agreement (LA), has to be agreed in advance and signed by both partnership institutions before the start of student’s mobility. LA is a necessary part of Contract of the provision of grant, which is signed between student and Institutional Coordinator LLP/Erasmus program of Comenius University
- after the finishing the Erasmus study program abroad student should deliver (according to the Contract of the provision of the grant) these documents to the Office of International relations at Rectorate CU in required term:
Certificate (time period of the Erasmus stay at the university abroad has to be filled in) and Transcript of Records and Student’s report (this one has to be sent also by e-mail to the address written in the contract).
Student can become an Erasmus student if his/her Erasmus mobility based on the Bilateral Agreement is agreed by:
- Home fakulty
- Host foreign university

Student can join Erasmus program once during the study and can apply just for the country which is not his home country.
Length of the stay:
Generally it is from 3 to 12 months. For the students of the Comenius University the optimal length is set at 4 and half month – 1 semester. Student receives grant just for this period.
Students, whose want to take practise abroad shall apply for Erasmus mobility placement (SMP), grant might be approved for the length of 3 months.
Prolongation of the stay:
For the prolongation of the stay is Article 9. valid (Amendments) of the Contract of the provision of the grant. Study should be interconnected continuously – it means, student should ask for the prolongation of the stay before the end of the already approved stay. If the prolongation will be agreed and confirmed by Comenius University, dates of the stay should directly interlock.
Requests are submitted in the Office of International relations (OMV) LLP/Erasmus (Rectorate CU,
Šafárikovo námestie 6, 818 06 Bratislava 16) in writing and signed!
A) Short-term prolongation of the contract (1 to 8 weeks.)
If the winter or summer semester students cannot complete all the duties arising from LA in the agreed term from objective reasons (for example: term of exam). Student submits:
- Request for prolongation of the stay (form is not specified) in writing with a signature.
- Documents confirming reasons for which student ask for prolongation.
If the request will be accepted student would receive decision of o prolongation of the stay.
B) 1 semester prolongation
Only for the students of winter semester.
Basic condition for this prolongation of the stay is fulfilling of all the duties arising from the Contract of the provision of the grant and LA.
Student submits:
- Request for prolongation of the stay in writing with a signature.
- Approval for prolongation of the stay from home faculty
- Approval for prolongation of the stay from host university with a new Learning Agreement for summer semester attached, which shall be signed by all contracting parties.
If the request will be accepted student would receive decision of o prolongation of the stay without provision of additional finance.
Student who cannot continue the study abroad without financial support can ask for the grant for prolongation of the stay till February28, of relevant year.
Grant:
The Grant, which Erasmus student receives, for the stay abroad is a subsidy grant (it means it is not an income for a student) and it is not possible to expect it would cover all the expenses during the stay of the student abroad.
Office LLP Erasmus (OMV) Rectorate of Comenius University warn that grants are dispensed just till depletion of the financies comming from National Agency for this mobility in the relevant academic year.
Amount of grant is set by European Commission in Brussels, respecting the amounts of grants from the previous academic year. Amount of grant for a month is set always before the beginning of the particular academic year, equality of students should be kept.
Conditions of the payment the grant to a student are initiate in the Contract of the provision of the grant, which is signed up between Comenius University and student.

Zero grant can be given to a student, who doesn’t require any financial support, but he is receiving status of Erasmus student, so he/she is able to use all the student benefits (student doesn’t pay school fees, he/she‘s got discounts or free entries).
Possibilities of additional grant: The students – persons with special needs and students receiving social grant have the possibilities of additional grant.
Persons with special needs have possibility to get beside the grant allocated by the university also additional grant. Requests shall be sent to National Agency (http://www.saaic.sk), students have to follow instructions and terms set by NA.
We recommend to contact Centrum podpory študentov so špecifickými potrebami (Center of support of the students with special needs) during the process.
Language courses
EILC(Erasmus Intensive Language Courses)
Courses are focused on less broadened European languages. Information about the language courses, list of the institutions by which courses are offered and application forms are available on the website EILC. They are held from july to august, before the start of winter semester and in months january - february before the summer semester.
Duration of EILC courses is max. 6 weeks (60 lessons at least).
Intensive language course is organized in these countries: Belgium (flemish), Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech republic, Danmark, Estonia, Suomi, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak republic, Slovenia, Sweden a Turkey.
How to successfully reach SMS
before the departure to SMS:
- get the information about the valid bilateral agreements and terms of selection at your faculty,
- take part in the selection process and accomplish the conditions specified by faculty,
- be successful participant of the selection at your faculty,
in cooperation with the Office of International relations at faculty fill up necessary forms:
- Student Application Form,
- Learning Agreement (LA),
which will be first signed by faculty Erasmus coordinator and then sent to the receiving university by the International relation Office. It is needed to communicate with receiving university in advance and also look carefully at its website since the foreign university could ask for its own documents of required forms. Receiving institution also requires Transcript of Records, for the previous period of study at home university.
- After endorsement of the study stay by receiving university (i.e. after confirmation of the Application Form and Learning Agreement) it is necessary to inform the Office of International relations at faculty, at the latest till 30.06. (Notification of acceptance). After Contract of the provision of the grant shall be filled in and printed in 2 copies and signed by a student:

NOTICE!
Student is obliged to fill in all interactive boxes of the document! (if you have any problems contact your faculty International Relations Office)
Do not write anything by hand into the contract, student just signs the contract at the end.
- Confirmation of the Erasmus status for a student:
- Confirmation_e (English),
- Bescheinigung_d (German),
- Confirmation_f (French).
This document will be signed by Institutional coordinator and student can use it abroad as the Confirmation by which is certified that he/she is financially covered by Erasmus grant for the set term.
All these documents with necessary enclosures of the Contract of the provision of the grant (LA confirmed by both universities, copy of health insurance, copy of the travel ticket, Erasmus charter of student (– this document will be added by the Office for LLP/Erasmus Office and International relations at Rectorate), should be submitted to the faculty International Office at least 6 weeks before the departure to SMS. The documents will be sent by International Relation Office at the Faculty of Medicine to Rectorate to be signed by Institutional coordinator.
Student is obliged to take over all the signed forms (Contract and Confirmation) personally at Office for LLP/Erasmus Office and International relations at Rectorate - Student is obliged to check up the Visa duty at the relevant embassy, whether it’s needed (information: SAAIC, MZV SR).
One of the possible sources of receiving detailed information about the country and about receiving university/institution is Erasmus Student Network (Students help students).
during the stay:
After arrival to the foreign university:
- in 7 days after arrival abroad report your submittion to study, which is confirmed by host university, to Office for LLP/Erasmus and International relations at Rectorate by the Confirmation of beginning..., to the address: socrates(at)rec.uniba.sksocrates(at)rec.uniba.sk (via e-mail), or via fax (+421 2 592 44 550), or via mail to the address written in the Contract.
- if you would like to make changes of your previous study programe, send signed document Changes to the original Learning Agreement (Changes – i.e. 2. page of LA filled in and confirmed) - at least within 1 month to the Office of International Relations of home faculty.
If student decides for early interruption or cancellation of the study stay, or another changes towards commitments initiated in the Contract of the provision of the grant , student is obliged to ask (by giving the appropriate reason) in written forming and with a signature in the duration course of the Contract (via fax or mail) Office for LLP/Erasmus and International relations at Rectorate. Approved changes should be confirmed in relevant Subcontract worked out at Office for LLP/Erasmus and International relations at Rectorate.
after the arrival from SMS:
These documents have to be submitted at Office for LLP/Erasmus and International relations at Rectorate in 30 days after expiration of the duration of Contract of the provision of the grant:
- Certificate from the foreign university, which confirms exact length of student‘s study stay at foreign university – this should be identical with the duration of study stay written in the Contract of the provision of the grant.
If the foreign university does not have its own document for Certificate, student will use for confirmation of the duration of the stay one of these forms: - - Certificate_e (English),
- Zertifikat_d (German),
- Certificat_f (French),
student asks Institutional Coordinator or Departmental Coordinator to sign and stamp it .This Certificate is necessary to arrange before return to the home university. If student does not deliver this document to the Office for LLP/Erasmus, he/she could be asked to give back all or a part of the given funds. - form Transcript of Records from foreign university. Inceptors submit confirmation that the work plan of the study stay was coincident with agreed one (opinion of responsible teacher - form is not given).
Study results attained abroad and coincident with the original Learning Agreement/Changes will be accepted on Confirmation of the study stay abroad / Program LLP Erasmus (Potvrdenie) with student’s name signed by Institutional Coordinator. Student receives the confirmation from Office for LLP/Erasmus Rectorate, after he/she fulfills all obligations arising from the Contract of the provision of the grant. - Report from the study stay signed by student (Správa z pobytu)

Student receives the Confirmation (Potvrdenie) after submission of all required documents and fulfilling of all necessities arising from LLP/Erasmus programme!
