Complicated meteorological and hydrological situation in Bratislava - update 17th september 2024

Important information about the teaching process at Faculty of Medicine of UK in Bratislava in the context of the current hydrometeorological situation.

Even though the weather and hydrological situation has started to calm down, there are still problems with travel, valid even today and tomorrow, i.e. 17 and 18 September 2024, that students who are unable to attend class due to the mentioned problems will be excused.

The management of LF UK regularly monitors and evaluates the current complicated meteorological and hydrological situation in Bratislava.

Following a Crisis Staff meeting at the Rector's Office of Comenius University, the management of LF UK also made the following decisions:

  • Lectures at the Faculty of Medicine will take place according to the valid timetable. Students who will not be able to attend classes on Monday 16.9.2024 due to adverse weather and hydrological situation will be excused. Absences must be notified by email to the lecturer and the Head of the relevant department.
  • Employees of LF UK who are unable to attend their workplaces on 16.9.2024 due to adverse weather conditions are obliged to immediately notify their superior with a state of reasoning. The situation will be resolved individually.
  • Fresher's day will take place as planned.

Everyone is advised to watch out for falling trees. Keep an eye on the information of the Capital City of Bratislava (https://www.facebook.com/Bratislava.sk) and the crisis management authorities. REMEMBER THAT SAFETY COMES FIRST !!
