COMENIUS UNIVERSITY AMONG FIVE HUNDRED BEST UNIVERSITIES WORLDWIDE ACORDING TO ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL RANKING

Comenius University once again confirm its significant position in the field of education and science.

Bratislava December 4th, 2014, Comenius University in Bratislava reaffirmed its important role in the field of education and research. In the worldwide Round University Ranking (RUR) Comenius university occupies the 440th place. Comenius university is also the only Slovak university, which belongs among 767 best universities included in the ranking  around the world.

Ranking RUR published in November 2014 is based on data from Thomson Reuters' Global Institutional Profiles Project. According to this ranking California Institute of Technology placed at the first position, followed by Harvard on 2nd place, Oxford on 3rd place, Stanford on 4th place and Cambridge on 5th place. Comenius University in Bratislava ranked on the 440th position.   

RUR ranking assesses five main areas, namely education (30% importance), international cooperation (7.5% importance), revenue from interconnection with practice (2.5% importance), research (30% importance) and citations (30% importance ).   

"After CWUR ranking (Center for World University Rankings), in which the Comenius University was ranked among the 3.3 percent of the world's best universities this year, the position in RUR ranking is further proof of the quality of education and research at our university," said the Rector prof. Mgr. Karol Mičieta, PhD. In addition, at the beginning of the year Comenius University placed among five hundred world's best universities according to academic performance in University Ranking by Academic Performance (495th place).
