Institute of Pathological Anatomy realizes the education of students in 3rd year of General Medicine, 2nd and 3rd year of Dentistry and non-medical courses. It realizes the education in Clinical Pathology and participates in Postgraduate education in Pathology.
The Institute contributes in biopsy and cytology diagnostic activities focusing on gynecological, gastrointestinal and pediatric pathology, dermatopathology, uropathology, pathology of eye, hematopathology and on complex diagnosis of skeletal muscle diseases. The Institute is crucial part of the Center for trophoblastic disease of the Slovak republic - Head of the histopathological diagnostics of the Centre if prof. MD. Ľudovít Danihel, PhD. According to the needs it realizes the consultations for the entire Slovak republic.
In agreement between Faculty of Medicine and the Health Care Surveillance Authority the Institute realizes the necropsy activities including the complete evaluation of autopsy material. The institute regularly organizes clinical-pathological conferences and seminars.

- Laboratory of Molecular Medicine (responsible prof. Pavel Babál, MD, CSc.)
- Use and development of immunohistochemical methods
