VICE DEAN FOR PEDAGOGICAL ACTIVITIES IN THE STUDY PROGRAM OF DENTISTRY IN SLOVAK AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

He was born in 1980 in Bratislava. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava, in the branch of dentistry (2006) and works at the Department of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Centre for Simulation and Virtual Medical Education. He is a forensic expert in healthcare and pharmacy, in the branch of dentistry, and a member of the Board of Directors of Comenius University in Bratislava. He completed his doctoral studies in dentistry on implementing digital systems in orthodontics. In 2009, he obtained his first certification in dentistry and, in 2012, his second certification in maxillofacial orthopaedics. He defended his Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2013 and Master of Health Administration (MHA) in 2014. He completed his habilitation at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava in 2022. Among the most significant study stays abroad is a professional internship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA (2009) with the renowned professor William R. Proffit and also an Erasmus study stay at the Faculty of Medicine of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, at the Gemelli University Hospital, Rome, Italy (2005).

His work experience includes, for example, working for the British Council and the Academic Library of the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava. He co-founded the specialized dental clinic Sangre azul, the technological company 3Dent medical and the Professional Society for Innovations in Medicine. He is the co-founder and first president of the Slovak Society for Regenerative Medicine and received the prestigious ITAPA eGovernment leader award in 2006.

He was the first in Slovakia to create and deliver stereoscopic 3D lectures when teaching medics maxillofacial orthopaedics. He introduced 3D printing into the practice and education of general medicine and dentistry medics. In jaw orthopaedics–orthodontics, he is the so-called pioneer of invisible dental braces and artificial intelligence in Slovakia. He was the first to put them into practice in the Slovak Republic, and today they have become a regular part of the clinic and research. Besides this shift in the paradigm in jaw orthopaedics, he is also the leader of a multidisciplinary group of passionate experts focused on the development of applications of 3D printing and artificial intelligence in medical practice.
