VICE DEAN FOR FACULTY COLLABORATION WITH MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS AND HEALTH CARE

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava in general medicine in 1989. After graduation, he joined the 1st Orthopaedic Department of FMCU and FH Bratislava as a secondary doctor. From 2000 to 2002, he worked as a lecturer at SPAM. In 1992 –1997, he obtained the 1^st and 2^nd certifications in orthopaedics, and in 2022 he received an additional certification in orthopaedic prosthetics. He completed his habilitation at FMCU in 2003. Since 2004, he has been the head of the Orthopaedic Department of FMCU and NICHD. He mainly deals with congenital and developmental diseases of the skeleton, correction of angular and longitudinal deformities of the skeleton, neuro orthopaedics, orthopaedics and endoprosthetics. Since 2007, he has been working as the leading expert in the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic for paediatric orthopaedics. Since 2006, he has been the Slovak Orthopaedic and Traumatological Society president. In 2011, he was appointed an orthopaedics professor at the Faculty of Medicine, CU. He is an honorary member of the Czech and Hungarian Orthopaedic and Traumatological Society, the Slovak Rheumatology Society and a committee member of the Society for Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Diseases. He is the guarantor of the doctoral study program and specialized study in orthopaedics at the Faculty of Medicine, CU. He is a member of several international professional societies and editorial boards of professional periodicals and holds several awards and honours.
